Here are videos of Parousia performing select songs from their Virtual Reality show at the Troubadour on September 21st 1991.
When the band departed from Buffalo NY to seek fortune in Los Angeles, CA, it was hard to believe that outsiders like us made it to the stage of the world famous Troubadour in West Hollywood, CA.
This was Parousia’s third performance of ‘Virtual Reality’ at the Troubadour.
Marianne Smith booked the show and was a big help backstage before and after the performance.
We were happy to be back at the Troub, the venue was a good fit for our show.
The band had plenty of room on stage (most of the time, wheelchair scenes exempted) and the dancers had plenty of room to dance in front of the raised stage.

It was so exciting to perform on stage at this historic venue that catered to serious music fans who enjoy listening to live music in an intimate setting. Since opening in 1957, the legendary Troubadour club helped launch some of contemporary music’s most talented performers like Elton John, James Taylor and Tom Waits, all of whom performed there early-on in their careers. Here’s a slide show of this night’s performance. Video will also be available, check back soon.
