Performing the gig at Casey’s, March 19, 1990 was a lot like playing at a club back in Buffalo, NY, with hard-core rock music fans that love to get out to a local club and see a live band. The audience liked what we were playing and that was cool with us.
It was a busy March for the band, starting with Friday March 2nd, at the underground Club 88 in Los Angeles. Then on Saturday March 10, the band’s live rock video, “The Weekend Starts Tonight” won the final round on the Hollywood showcase and was aired on television. This was a nice bump in visibility in an already very over-crowded rock market in L.A.
On March 14, Parousia headlined “original rock night” at The Sunset Club and the next night, March 15th at the alternative rock club, Madame Wong’s West in Santa Monica, CA.
Parousia was set to book a return gig at Casey’s but fate never gave the band a chance. Casey’s was the third-last show for Parousia in its present form because at the very next gig, Dudley Taft (guitar/vocals), Marty Leggett (keyboards) and Gary Lee (bass / vocals – when he showed up) would announce that they were ‘moving on’; leaving the original members, Patt Connolly (vocals/flute) and Gerry North Cannizzaro (drums) to chart a new course for the band Parousia.
