This was the band’s ninth performance at Madame Wong’s West, a popular “new-wave” venue in Santa Monica CA.
Throughout all of 1990, March was the busiest month for Parousia. Starting on Friday, March 2nd at Club 88 on Pico blvd. in Los Angeles followed by Saturday March 10, where Parousia’s live video, “The Weekend Starts Tonight”, wins the competition on “the Hollywood Showcase” and enters the finals.
On Wednesday March 14, the band played at the Sunset Club in Sierra Madre, CA. and then the very next evening on Thursday March 15, the band was back in Santa Monica at Wong’s West for another round of original rock featuring band members, Patt Connolly (flute/vocals), Dudley Taft (guitar/vocals), Gary Lee (bass/vocals), Marty Leggett (keyboards) and Gerry North Cannizzaro (drums).
The band took the stage with the Dancers Untamed at the preferred time slot, 10:30 pm and played a set of their best songs including “Place Your Bets”, “Turnaround”, “Tiffany”, “Graduation” “The Weekend Starts Tonight”, “People’s Court”, “Caesar of the Modern Home”, “Mary’s Gone”, “Rock Bottom”, “Life Is the Real” and “Dirty Hands”. All that for the modest admission price of $2.00! Even in 1990 that was cheap!
