PAROUSIA 1980: Bob Lowden, Garth Huels, Gerry Cannizzaro, Eric Scheda, Kim Watts, Patrick Connolly and Barry Cannizzaro
This was a pretty cool Friday night and was a chance for us to relax in a venue we knew like the back of our hand. We knew what went where and that gave us more time for ourselves before we went on stage to give it all away. The band was much tighter now, we were performing gigs on weekends, weekdays and every Sunday night at Melanie’s Pub in Williamsville. Optimism was up ever since we signed a management/booking deal with Backstage Productions back in August. You notice their name written along the right edge of the band flyer.
On this go around at Frank’s, we were playing the same weekend as John Cameron, a friend of ours who recently started performing in his own band. We did find one promo picture of the James Cameron Band with Joe Martucci on bass, (another SJCI alumni).
I found a couple pictures of John Cameron playing bass with a band called “Diamond Axe”, (Diamond Axe was a trio that played their own hard-rock music and covered obscure tunes like “Dominance and Submission” by Blue Oyster Cult. Diamond Axe could often be seen performing at McVan’s on a week night).
